About our Communities
The ³Ô¹Ï±¬ÁÏ’s First Year Experience Living Learning Communities (LLCs) and Themed Living Communities (TLCs) provide an introductory leadership experience within the context of a residential setting.
Offered to incoming first-year students, you will have the opportunity to move to campus early to participate in an off-campus retreat to develop a sense of community with other LLC/TLC members.
Students interested in an LLC or TLC for Fall 2026 must attend one of the summer orientation sessions in June 2026.
LLC students learn through a cohort style of learning by taking one or more linked courses together throughout the year. TLC students take advantage of theme-specific programming opportunities.
You can expect to:
- Meet new people who share similar interests and goals
- Develop relationships with staff and faculty
- Benefit from one-on-one mentorship
- Participate in programs and workshops based on a common theme
- Explore identities as leaders on campus
- Learn about valuable resources that can assist in the goal of being successful
- Make a positive contribution to the ³Ô¹Ï±¬ÁÏ community
If you participate in an LLC or TLC, you will be housed with that community in a double residence hall room in a common first-year building. This could change based on space needs, i.e., triple rooms instead of doubles. Each community will benefit from the involvement of a professional staff advisor, a resident advisor (RA), and a first-year expert.
